What is acid-stained concrete?
Acid staining is a chemical reaction with the minerals in concrete that creates permanent, variegated, marble-like color — no two floors are alike, and the finish never peels because it's part of the slab.
Engineered or solid hardwood?
Engineered flooring handles humidity and slab foundations better; solid hardwood can be refinished more times. The right answer depends on your foundation, rooms, and long-term plans.
Can you tile walls and ceilings too?
Yes — showers, backsplashes, feature walls, and even ceilings. Large-format and natural stone included.
Can hardwood be installed over a concrete slab?
Yes — engineered hardwood glued or floated over a moisture barrier is the right system for slab foundations, which is most of North Texas. Moisture testing comes first, always.
How flat does my subfloor need to be?
Typically within 3/16" over 10 feet. Most floors aren't — which is why grinding and self-leveling are part of the job when needed, not an upsell.
What colors does acid stain come in?
Earth tones — ambers, browns, terracottas, and soft greens — created by a real chemical reaction with your slab. Every floor is one of a kind, so a sample area is always done first.
